What defines the motorbike or scooter class
Motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and pillion-equipped touring bikes. Transported on a tilt-bed flatbed with a dedicated front wheel chock or, where stated, in a fully enclosed trailer.
Weight band: Up to 600 kg with rider equipment. Equipment fitted to the recovery vehicle: Tilt-bed flatbed with wheel chock and ratchet anchors, or covered trailer.
- Hard panniers and top-boxes are removed and carried in the cab where practical to prevent strap-rub.
- Open trailer transport is offered as a lower-cost option for short distances; enclosed trailer is the default for long-distance.
- Recovery from a scene where the bike has been laid down includes a visual check for fuel and oil leaks before lift.
